A Week In the Arizona Desert — 2 0 0 9
Seeking an entirely new environment, I found it in the Arizona desert. Ironically, the landscape reminded me of the ocean here at home (California) in its vastness, sense of space and found serenity. It is a place that is profoundly quiet yet is abundant with life... cottontails, hawks, hummingbirds, lizards, wild pigs and more.
Bob (my husband) and I hiked many trails and were fortunate enough to witness one of the most beautiful sunsets I've ever seen. As we walked through the Hohokan Indian ruins, a storm came in just as the sun was setting. On that particular evening, I felt like I had found the gateway to the heavens in that gorgeous Arizona sky. |
